Welcome from Olga Bennet, Executive Director of Resources
Do you want to be bold and make a difference?
Enfield Council are investing in the borough to deliver positive outcomes for our communities. We want to support residents to live happy, healthy and safe lives in a good quality home they can afford. We want children and young people to do well at all levels of learning and for residents to age well.
To do this it is essential we have a strong, effective and value adding finance department, who are the cornerstone of the Council’s financial health and strategic decision making. We want a team who are robust and able to cope with the challenges in the sector currently, offering practical responses and providing useful analysis and information to ensure effective decisions are made. The team will be focused on being an active partner in service transformation and look to cut through bureaucracy and remove barriers.
As Olga mentioned in the video, the Council have been in the news recently around having applied for Exceptional Financial Support, but they are not reliant on it on an ongoing basis. They have set a balanced budget and have a senior leadership team and Members who are committed to working towards financial stability.
If you want to be part of this exciting opportunity to have a hugely positive impact at Enfield Council, we want to hear from you.
Director of Finance (Corporate)
We are looking for a strong leader to set a vision for what a modern finance department looks like, with the energy and drive to transform the finance team and achieve that vision. The ideal candidate will have technical corporate accounting knowledge, including a strong track record of closing accounts, implementing and monitoring financial controls, and good knowledge of ERP system controls. Ideally, they will have experience implementing a new ERP system in a local authority. A proven track record of building strong, high-performing teams and modernising processes is essential.
Director of Finance (Capital)
We are looking for a driven and visionary leader to unlock long-term projects and facilitate their implementation while clearly reporting financial status and risks. The ideal candidate will possess commercial acumen and housing development expertise, with experience in setting up successful partnerships with external funding sources.

Fairer Enfield – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
The Fairer Enfield Policy set out how the Council will work with partners to create a fairer Enfield, helping to create a lifetime of opportunities for everyone in the borough. The Council will support residents, service users and Council staff to fulfil their potential, treating all members of our diverse community with respect and actively involving people from all groups in shaping the decisions that affect the services they receive, the places they live in or the organisation in which they work.
