Join Thurrock Council's Finance Team

A fresh start for Thurrock
Do you want to be part of making Thurrock fit for the future?

Thurrock Council is on a major change journey, and you can play a key role in that. Following the Council being put into intervention in 2022 a vast amount of work has already been successfully undertaken to ensure the Council is back on track and moving towards financial stability. This has included improving financial process and developing saving plans, and although there have been huge improvements there is more to do.

The Council has a new Corporate Plan called a Fresh Start for Thurrock which sets out how the Council will operate over the next five years as it recovers and rebuilds trust with residents and communities.

To help drive this forward the Council is currently recruiting to a number of roles to help strengthen and add resilience across the finance team as they will play a hugely important role in securing the Councils future.

We are looking for ambitious finance professionals who are excited by a challenge and being part of a transformation programme that will have a massively positive impact on the local community. These roles will involve developing new ways of operating council services, ensuring long-term improvements and establishing the highest standards of financial management.
